About The Artist

I am influenced by everything I see, feel, and experience…

T. Narayan is a seasoned Indian artist whose body of work spans over five decades, showcasing mastery in traditional, figurative, and contemporary styles. Born in Bengaluru, Karnataka, his artistic talent was evident from a young age, though it remained largely unrecognized in his early years due to societal expectations. It was only through unwavering persistence and passion that he eventually embraced painting as a full-time vocation.

He began his journey as an art educator at The Kalamandir Arts College, Bengaluru, in 1971, where his exposure to formal techniques and classical forms laid a strong foundation for a lifetime of artistic exploration. He soon transitioned into the field of banner art, refining his craft further before embarking on a bold new path as a solo realist painter.

Collaborating closely with clients from Mumbai and Karnataka during the initial 15 years of his independent practice, Narayan pushed the boundaries of realism, experimenting with color, medium, and form. These formative experiences laid the groundwork for the distinguished career he enjoys today—marked by a distinct artistic voice that bridges India’s rich classical heritage with a modern, emotionally resonant sensibility.

Narayan’s paintings are less about political commentary and more about spiritual continuity, human nature, and timeless beauty. Despite working in genres often considered traditional, his approach feels fresh—unburdened by trends, yet relevant to the present.
